Personal Reflection (The Spritual Pathway Assessement)

1. What are one or two activities I need to engage in regularly to stay connected with God? How will I incorporate these activities into the rhythm of my life?

Firstly, I have to read bible. Secondly, I have to pray before eating food. The first activity, which is reading bible, is really hard. But by reading the first chapter, the Genesis, and so on. Then it will increase the faith in believing God. The second activity, which is praying before eating food, and praying in anytime, but not for when I wish to pray. This will always remind me to worship God, because God made our daily meal, our essences. Like, water, clothing, etc... So, in order to apply this activity into the rhythm of my life, whenever I have extra time, I should read bible and understand the least meaning of each sentences, and pray for God after I've finished reading a part of bible. Same as before eating dinner, I should pray for God, showing a sign of thankfulness for giving us the food. That way, I can stay connected with God regularly. One more important activity that I can think of is by praying alone. By praying in my room or any places that are isolated from noise and people, can help me connected to the God.

2. In what ways can I stretch myself to experience God in new ways?

Worshiping and learning in community like Catholic Church. And volunteer service for the people who are not wealthier enough. So volunteering and worshiping in the church can stretch myself to the better path of experiencing God.

Reflections about 2009-11-03 Mrs. Gunther's Class

I'm recently having trouble with understanding how to apply God's World to Career planning.
I barely understand what I'm doing in the 'Life-Shaping Decision' booklet. It's almost talking about how to apply God's idea and God's World to the career planning. I understand what to do for the Career planning, however, the questions they ask, involve God's word, kind of confuses me, and I barely understand what it means. It is hard for somebody who has no such religious background, trying to understand the meaning and the words people use with so many biblical terms. I really don't have any hatred toward the bible but I just don't understand them and it's testing my knowledge every time I want to do some homework...

So today, we did a new thing, we were given a registration code to connect to the internet which will determine our learning style, and the personality type. And other etc... It helped me to find about me, and also my personality. It was really surprising, it was mostly correct about my learning style.

Reflections about 2009-10-30 Mrs. Gunther's Class

Today, we were given a booklet which tests our ability and interests to know what we are best at, so that we can choose the right career. My interest was in History. I'm a freshmen and I have 4 years to finish the High School. Therefore, thinking seriously about what I'm interested in, and what I would choose for my career right now wouldn't matter very much. My interest might change in 4 years. So I chose History for now. Mrs. Gunther gave us another booklet that had a list of alphabetized order of occupations that I could choose. Before I looked at the list, I didn't know any of occupations but after I looked at it, I realized that, in the world that we live in, there are many jobs that we can choose. So I thought a little bit about my current decision, the History, and asked my self. Am I really willing to go to the path of History or not. And my answer was, do my best in all subject.

Reflections about 2009-10-28 Mrs. Gunther's Class

This is my fourth class with Mrs. Gunther. She taught us about the values of us and the 'talent' but with specific detail.

We were asked to paste the lists of goals from top, the prior one to the bottom, the least prior. And during the time we were pasting it, I asked to myself, If I choose 'Be successful', for the prior one, I can easily give up the hope, because the task is way too big for the first step. As I talked about 'small steps' in the past post, I think stepping on the small road and getting bigger is the best way of achieving all the goals.

Question #1 (Mrs. Gunther was ill)

How can I become the person I want to be? How can I become the person God wants to me to be?

- I first have to plan small step. Small step which I want to achieve for one week or may be 5 days.
Then I start planning little bigger step. It could be one month or it could be 2 weeks. From small steps to bigger steps and finally I achieved all the goals I need and then I will become what I wanted to become. Same thing as what God want to me to be. I start to read bible and go to church and memorize bible. Then I will become what God wanted me to be.

-Reflections about 2009-10-21 Mrs. Gunther's Class-

This is the second class I'm having with Mrs. Gunther. Today we learned the same topic but more deeply and seriously. We have to decide someday of our career. Therefore, we first was asked to find out when will you decide your career. And I answered 9th grade. Well, I think asking myself of my career in 9th grade is very good thing to do. It can help you think of many jobs as you want. And we learned about 'talent'. Talent means what we are good at in particular area or what we are good at in a group activity and usually it divides into two things. One is mentally and the other one is physically. What that mean is, 'mentally' is by using your brain, by 'physically' means using your body. Whichever your talent is, the point is that God always gave us an unique talent to do God's mission. Which is living happy. Also, we realized, even though we can't figure out what our talent is, we will find it as the time passes, because we are in a 'progress'.

Reflections about 2009-10-20 Mrs. Gunther's Class

-Reflections about 2009-10-20 Mrs. Gunther's Class-

In this first class, I realized how much responsibility is in my every decision. Before turning to the teenage, I usually decided for fun and I always knew that there will be no serious consequences.
However, after I turned to teenage I realized that I have to make serious choices between everyday.
For example, am I going to finish the homework today or not. Therefore, if I didn't do my homework, there will be a consequence. I think today's lesson was very thoughtful and important.
So in conclusion, I learned "responsibility in every choices I make".
